A motorcyclist was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after a crash involving a sedan on Saturday morning, according to Montecito Fire Department officials.

At 9:50 a.m., Montecito firefighters were dispatched to a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on the 2000 block of Sycamore Canyon Road.

The motorcyclist was taken by an American Medical Response ambulance to Cottage Hospital.

The condition of the injured motorcyclist wasn’t available.

California Highway Patrol officers were investigating the circumstances of the crash.

The crash was the first of two incidents that made for a busy Saturday morning for Montecito firefighters.

At 10:45 a.m., firefighters responded to the 500 block of Santa Rosa Lane for a fire involving a cargo van’s engine compartment.

Crews quickly extinguished the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby vegetation, Montecito Fire representatives said.
