A motorcyclist ended up at the Lompoc Valley Medical Center for treatment on Wednesday evening after suffering serious injuries in a vehicle collision.

At approximately 5:40 p.m., Lompoc firefighters and police officers responded to the area of North H Street and East Central Avenue for a report of a crash.

The motorcyclist was transported to the Emergency Department at Lompoc hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, fire Battalion Chief Brian Federmann told Noozhawk.

A Calstar medical helicopter was dispatched to the incident, but could not respond, so the patient was transported by ground ambulance.

His name and details on his condition were not available.

Lompoc police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
