A multi-vehicle crash on Saturday left one person with moderate injuries and snarled Highway 101 traffic in the Montecito area.

Personnel from the Montecito Fire Department, the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, the California Highway Patrol and other agencies were dispatched to northbound Highway 101 south of Sheffield Drive at 5:20 p.m., according to emergency dispatch reports.

The incident reportedly involved seven vehicles and one motorcycle, Montecito firefighters said.

One patient was treated for moderate injuries and transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Others involved reportedly were not injured, Montecito firefighters said.

The crash closed the northbound Highway 101 lanes at Ortega Hill Road for a time Saturday.

Montecito firefighters advised drivers to expect delays in the area on Saturday evening as first responders clean up the scene.

“Please slow down and drive cautiously this busy holiday season,” Montecito firefighters said.
