Carpinteria got past Villanova 11-7 on Tuesday in a non-league boys tennis match in Ojai.
“I think we were a bit fortunate that some of the sets turned out the way they did, otherwise we could have been talking about a different scoreline,” said Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant. “In doubles, we had a great performance by Myles Morgan who went 2-0 with Sam Castillo and 1-0 with Luke Nahooikaika-Anderson. Myles was solid all three sets with both partners. Ian McCurry/Kirby Zapata went 2-0 as did Esteban Zapata/Cameron Gralewski. Both of those doubles teams did a great job of playing through some tough times to get their wins.”
Carpinteria is 3-1 overall.
