Nearly 90 new Lompoc Unified School District (LUSD) staff members attended a two-day New Educator Orientation, Aug. 5-6, to learn about the district and hear advice from fellow educators.

“Teachers are at the heart of what we do — educating students. These new staff will bring an energy and enthusiasm that will translate into the classrooms and benefit our students,” said Superintendent Trevor McDonald.

Training continued for new teachers throughout the week. All schools held professional learning days at their sites today. All LUSD schools start Wednesday, Aug. 14.
