It was a fantastic summer for water polo in the community.

Santa Barbarans Paige Hauschild and Jamie Neushul were members of the gold-medal winning U.S. Women’s National Team at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Back home, the Santa Barbara 805 Water Polo Club (where Hauschild and Neushul played their club water polo) won a gold medal in the 16-Under Division at the USA Water Polo Junior Olympics and had several players from various teams earn All-American honors.

USA Water Polo on Tuesday announced its list of All Americans from the Junior Olympics. Nine Santa Barbara 805 players are on the list.

Here are the local honorees:

12U Girls- 13th Place

All-American Honorable Mention: Lily Bordofsky

14U Girls- 4th Place

All-American 1st Team: Charlotte Raisin

All-American 2nd Team: Lucy Haaland-Ford (San Marcos High School)

16U Girls- 1st Place

Tournament MVP, All-American 1st Team: Ava Stryker (SMHS)

All-American 1st Team: Emma Gilbert (Dos Pueblos)

All-American 1st Team: Reagan McEachen (SMHS)

All-American 2nd Team: Ida Tully-Giles (Villlanova Prep)

All-American 2nd Team: Elaia Hamilton (SMHS)

18U Girls- 13th Place

All-American Honorable Mention: Caroline Courtois (SMHS/UC San Diego)
