Santa Barbara High tallied three first-half goals on Tuesday night and went on to top Thousand Oaks 3-1 to remain unbeaten in boys soccer.
The Dons (5-0-1) are ranked No. 10 in CIF Division 1.
Cason Goodman beat a defender out wide and delivered a strong ball on the ground to the near post and a rushing Miguel Alvarado slipped it past the keeper. Minutes later, Pedro Guillen knocked in a header on a corner from Luisangel Jeronimo. When the Thousand Oaks keeper didn’t clear a ball completely, Goodman jumped on it and drilled one off the post and in for a 3-0 halftime lead.
“I was really proud of the effort by the boys, given how much of themselves they gave over the weekend to win the Cats and Hounds Tournament,” said coach Todd Heil. “I would have understood a little energy letdown against Thousand Oaks, but the boys came out and worked through some early struggles to get another win on the road.”
The Dons will play at Westlake on Friday at 6:15 p.m.
