The forecast of cold overnight temperatures prompted a Frost Advisory from the National Weather Service for early Wednesday morning.

The advisory applies to all of Santa Barbara County and parts of southern San Luis Obispo County from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Lows are forecast in the 30s for Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

Temperatures will warm up slightly heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

“Frost can damage sensitive plants and harm pets if left unprotected,” the NWS said.

Freedom Warming Centers opened to offer overnight shelter to unhoused individuals on Sunday and Monday nights, and it was unclear whether they would open again for Tuesday.

The Warming Center Hotline with times and locations of open shelters is available at 805.324.2372.
