
Hercy Miller tossed in 22 points on Friday night as Oaks Christian spoiled San Marcos’ boys basketball home opener with a 62-60 victory at the Thunderhut.
“We led most of the game but they made a strong push late led by #15 [Miller] and #22 [Malik Moore],” said Royals coach Jelani Hicks.
Senior guard Tony Njia led the Royals (0-2) with 16 points and Will Pace added 11.
Moore scored 13 for the Lions (1-1) with most of those coming in the final quarter.
San Marcos will travel to Santa Ana to face Division 1 powerhouse Mater Dei on Saturday at 6 p.m.
