A celebration of life is being planned for October for Carl and Joanne Lindros, a well-known Santa Barbara couple who died Aug. 11 in a plane crash in Idaho.
The gathering — at a location yet to be determined — will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 19, according to Randy Lindros, one of the couple’s four children.
“We want to honor their memories,” Lindros told Noozhawk.
The Lindroses, both 83, were returning from a visit with friends in the Flathead Lake area of Montana when their single-engine Lancair IV aircraft was caught in severe weather.
The aircraft crashed near the town of Kooskia in west-central Idaho and burst into flames.
Carl Lindros was president of Santa Barbara Securities, which has offices on the 700 block of Garden Street in Santa Barbara.
The couple were active in local nonprofit organizations, particularly the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, where Carl Lindros previously had served as president.
The family is hoping for a large turnout for the celebration of life, Randy Lindros said, and attendees will be encouraged to share tributes to the couple.
More information about the event will be released as details are finalized, he added.
