At No. 1, the Chargers’ Portia Sherman and Chloe Hoffman beat Jayda Henrey and Gianna Pecile 21-13, 21-9. At No. 2, Erin Curtis and Natali Flint won over Kaki Allen and Sadie Lishman 21-14, 21-16, and at No. 3 Lucy Speier and Maddie Jones beat Hannah Allen and Aliyah Cabrera, 17-21, 21-13, 15-11.
“Santa Ynez is well coached and force you to play good consistent volleyball,” Dos Pueblos coach Mike FitzGerald said. “I felt Erin and Natali played some of their best volleyball of the season today at the 2s, serving tough and siding out at a high level.
“Lucy and Maddie didn’t play well in set 1 but kept fighting all day and pulled out a hard fought three-game match at the 3s, while Chloe and Portia continued their elite level of play sweeping their match at the 1s.”
Dos Pueblos is now 3-1 in league play and 7-1 overall.
“DP has a strong team that controlled the ball very well in extremely windy conditions,” Santa Ynez head coach Melissa Rogers said. “Our 3’s team of Hannah Allen and Aliyah Cabrera, partnered for the first time ever, pushed DP to 3 games. Aliyah and Hannah played a solid game all around.”
Santa Ynez will host Santa Barbara Thursday at Sunny Fields Park, with a 3 p.m. start.
