One805 has presented donations of navigational devices and SmartWool Socks to Chris Mailes, president of the Fire Chiefs Association of Santa Barbara County.

Thirty-seven Seek Thermal FirePRO 300 devices, which help firefighters navigate through low visibility conditions by helping them see hazards invisible to the naked eye, were donated to Santa Barbara County Firefighters.

One805 ran a fundraiser within a fundraiser at its One805Live! Fall Music Festival in September, earning enough to buy 14 Seek Thermal FirePRO 300 devices, with a promise from Seek Thermal to match. Seek Thermal exceeded its match promise with nine extra devices to cover each fire station in the county.

In addition, 772 pairs of Smartwool socks were donated. Smartwool socks are one of the most requested firefighter items.

Each pair will contain One805’s recently re-designed Mental Wellness Program information card, granting all Santa Barbara County firefighters access to vital mental health resources.

The socks are an efficient way of reaching every firefighter in Santa Barbara County, and spreading the word about this anonymous, culturally competent and effective wellness program.

One805 was created in the aftermath of the Thomas Fire and subsequent mudslides, hosting the largest nonprofit event in Santa Barbara History – The Kick Ash Bash!

The bash brought together actors, entertainers, singers, performers, and the community in a spirit of healing. More than $2 million was raised to provide counseling support to first responders and buy equipment to directly support victims of the tragedy.
