One person was injured early Christmas morning in a fire that broke out at a home in Goleta, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The fire was reported at about 3 a.m. on the 7500 block of Durham Place, fire Capt. Daniel Bertucelli said.

Crews arrived on the scene to find a unit attached to the single-family home engulfed in flames, Bertucelli said, and began an aggressive interior attack on the fire.

Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from causing significant damage to the main house, Bertucelli said, adding that the flames had spread to nearby vegetation.
