A woman escaped serious injury Thursday afternoon in a rollover crash near La Cumbre Plaza in Santa Barbara.

The crash occurred at about 12:45 p.m. on South Hope Avenue.

The woman was driving an SUV southbound on Hope when, for unknown reasons, she collided with a parked vehicle, causing her car to roll over onto its passenger side, said Capt. John Turner of the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.

The woman sustained only “very minor” injuries, Turner told Noozhawk, and was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Details on her condition were not available.

Hope Avenue was shut down in both directions for a time after the crash, which was under investigation by the Santa Barbara Police Department.
