Third District County Supervisor Joan Hartmann invites constituents to ride with her in the Fiestas Patrias Parade in Guadalupe at noon Sunday, Sept. 15. Line up for the parade starts at 11 a.m. at Hwy. 1 and 5th Street; the route ends at Hwy. 1 and 11th Street.

The Fiestas Patrias Parade is an annual tradition in Guadalupe celebrating Mexico’s Independence from Spain in 1810. The .6 mile Pedal with Joan promotes Santa Barbara County’s and and the city of Guadalupe’s Healthy Eating Active Living Initiatives to improve community access to healthy foods and an active lifestyle.

Hartmann will be joined by Traffic Solutions and Santa Maria Bici Centro. All ages and abilities are welcome to ride. Participants should bring their helmets.

After the parade ride, community members can join Hartmann at the downtown parking lot where she will host a tabling booth. Constituents can meet with Hartmann to discuss local issues and learn about community projects.
