Two pedestrians were injured  Friday afternoon when they were struck by a vehicle in Santa Maria.

At approximately 3 p.m., personnel from the Santa Maria Police and Fire departments, along with an American Medical Response ambulance, were dispatched to the incident at Blosser and Stowell roads.

One patient suffered major injuries, and a second had minor injuries, according to emergency dispatch reports. 

The vehicle and driver reportedly remained at the scene. 

Members of the Police Department Traffic Bureau were investigating the circumstances that led to the injuries.
