Lompoc police were investigating a shooting that sent a teenager to the hospital Monday night.

Officers responded at about 9 p.m. to the 700 block of North E Street on a report of a shooting, said Sgt. Vincent Magallon.

“Officers arrived and located a teenager with a single gunshot wound,” Magallon said.

The teen, whose name was not released, was taken to Lompoc Valley Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, he added.

The investigation was continuing Monday night, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Lompoc Police Department Detective Bureau at 805.875.8120.
