A suspected gang member has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred last week in downtown Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
Marco Arizmendi, 24, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and a gang enhancement stemming from an attack Sept. 24 at a bar in the 500 block of State Street, police spokesman Anthony Wagner said.
Arizmendi also is suspected of a parole violation, Wagner said.
The victm, whose name was not released, was transported by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Details on his condition were not available.
There were multiple witnesses to the stabbing, Wagner said, and they were interviewed by police.
State Street was shut down in the area while police investigated.
