Power was knocked out Saturday to several hundred customers in Goleta after a pickup truck smashed into a utility pole on Calle Real.

The incident occurred at about 11 a.m. on the north side of Calle Real near Kingston Avenue, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Power repoertedly was cut off to some 2,400 customers initially, but most had it restored within about 45 minutes, according to the Southern California Edison Co.

There were no injuries in the crash, according to Raquel Zick, public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

Calle Real remained shut down in the area more than two hours after the crash.

“The pole that is down supports another pole that holds lines that go across the freeway, so it’s going to be a tricky, possibly time-consuming repair job,” Zick told Noozhawk.

No one was cited or arrested in the crash, Zick said.

The crash was under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department.
