Darren Orlando pitched four innings, giving up one earned run and striking out three, as San Marcos beat Santa Paula 9-1 on Saturday in the Easton Tournament.

Erik Perez pitched two innings and Caden Hodina pitched the seventh, striking out two.

Owen Estabrook and Brendon Cekada both homered and had two RBI apiece for the Royals. Darren Orlando had two hits, including a double, while Cole Schoenwetter also had two hits and an RBI. Brad Cekada doubled and Caden Hodina had an RBI.

The Royals will play against Calabasas at 3 p.m. on Tuesday for their home opener at San Marcos High School.

Simi Valley 6, Dos Pueblos 5

Dos Pueblos lost a close one to Simi Valley, 6-5, over nine innings at the Easton Tournament Saturday to open the season.

Kevin Wertz started on the mound for the Chargers and went 3-2/3 innings. Jesse DiMaggio went 4-for-5 with two doubles, and Luke Varisio, Joe Talarico and Dylan Gesswein also contributed on offense.
