San Marcos and Carpinteria boys water polo each put on offensive clinics on Tuesday, taking down league opponents by double-digit goals.

San Marcos 21, Rio Mesa 7

Mateo Obando and AJ Scarborough each scored five goals in the Royals’ 21-7 rout of Rio Mesa.

San Marcos jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and cruised to the victory from there, dominating in all facets.

In the goal, freshman Titus Fernandez had four saves. Meanwhile, Jack Kramer made his debut and drew a pair of exclusions.

The Royals will host Santa Barbara High in a rivalry matchup on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Carpinteria 19, Nordhoff 2

The Warriors spread the offensive attack around in Tuesday’s big win.

Every member of the Carpinteria team scored, with Asher Smith leading the way with three of the team’s 19 goals. Defensively, Sky Korling collected six steals.

“I’m proud of the effort our boys brought today,” Warriors coach Karl Fredrickson said. “We had intensity from the first whistle and made it a priority to play for our teammates on both ends of the pool.”

The Warriors will host Santa Ynez on Thursday.
