Providence girls tennis lost a heartbreker in a CIF-SS Division 5 wild-card playoff match on Tuesday, falling to Channel Islands on total games after a 9-9 in sets. The visiting Raiders won 76-72.
Christine Venzor went 3-0, winning her singles sets 6-0, 6-4, 6-1. Ava Vandever went 2-1 in sets.
In doubles, the Patriots’ No. 1 team of Mia Vandever/Chloe Olsen won their three sets by scores of 6-3. The team of Sydney Whited/Jacklyn Pryko pulled out a 7-5 set to even the match score at 9-9.
