Providence girls volleyball won its first match under new coach Caitlin Racich, beating Valley Christian Academy in three sets at the Page Center.

Liza Coffin had eight kills and Emma Gobbell added five out of the middle to pace the attack for the Patriots.

Katilyn Tang started the match with a strong serving run and finished with a total of six aces. Julia Biederman played solid defense and passed well, said
Racich.

“Our pin hitters, Olivia Bates and Emma Johnson, moved the ball around during the match making defense tough for our opponent,” she added. “Overall,  our team communicated well and played smoothly.”

Providence (1-0) plays host to Laguna Blanca on Tuesday at the Page Center.
