San Marcos ran into a hot-shooting Bonita squad and dropped a 63-48 decision in a CIF-SS 2A Division second round playoff basketball game on Friday night in LaVerne.

Bonita sank six three-pointers in the first half to build a 38-24 lead. The Bearcats knocked down eight threes for the game, while San Marcos made four.

“We played a well coached team that played well,” said San Marcos coach Jelani Hicks. 

Isaiah Hicks led the Royals with 13 points and Gideon Van Bogelen added 10.

“We played well in spurts,” said coach Hicks. “Proud of the effort and the season we had.”

The Royals won a share of the Channel League and finished 17-10.
