A furious San Marcos comeback fell short against Village Christian, 57-54, in the the Silver Division third-place game at the Classic at Damien boys basketball tournament on Monday.
“We were down 15 going into the fourth quarter,” San Marcos coach Jelani Hicks said. “We made a run to cut it to two with less than two minutes left but couldn’t pull it off.”
Thomas Kinzler and Isaiah Hicks scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, to lead the Royals.
“We were very proud of how our guys bounced back in the second half. John Connolly did a good job seting the tone in the second half,” said Hicks.
