San Marcos went 3-3 at the Redondo Invitational boys volleyball tournament over the weekend.
The Royals started the gold bracket on Saturday with a loss to defending state champion Huntington Beach, 25-16, 25-18. They bounced back with a three-set win over Chatsworth, 14-25, 25-14, 16-14.
In the final match of the day, the Royals lost to St. Francis, 25-16, 25-21. They went 2-1 in pool play on Friday.
San Marcos is now 5-3 on the season. The Royals travel to Thousand Oaks on Tuesday, host Arroyo Grande on Wednesday, and host Cabrillo on Thursday in their Channel League opener.
