San Marcos spread its attack around swept a strong Royal team, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20, in a season-opening boys volleyball match at the Thunderhut on Tuesday.
Royal is ranked No. 1 in the CIF-SS Division 3 poll and has 12 seniors,” San Marcos coach Roger Kuntz noted. “I was very pleased with our effort and energy to start off the 2022 campaign.”
Junior middle Kyle Foley paced the balanced San Marcos attack with six kills one eight attacks and no errors.
“We are so happy to have Kyle in our program and he has really improved for us,” said Kuntz.
Sophomore Jack Wilson had seven kills and senior captains Aiden Pazier and Zach Willbanks recorded six apiece.
“Junior setter Colin Earls did an outstanding job running the attack,” said Kuntz.
San Marcos is home Thursday night against Valencia.
