David Satchwell scored late in the second half to lift the San Marcos boys soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Redondo Union in a first-round game at the South Torrance Tournament on Friday.
Leo Olivo started the goal-scoring sequence with a header across the goalmouth to Juan Escobar who played it on to Satchwell for the finish.
“We were really pleased to shut out a strong Redondo team,” coach Paul McLean said. “Satchwell was certainly the man of the match with lots of key clearances.”
The Royals (4-1-3) play Culver City on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
