Santa Barbara High girls basketball fell to Reedley High by a score of 45-31 on Thursday on the second day of pool play at the Santa Maria Tournament.
The Dons struggled early, falling behind 11-2 early in the first quarter.
However, they battled back with a solid second quarter and trailed by seven heading into halftime.
Dayzia Mendoza once again led the way in scoring with 14 points from the point guard position. Aleena Padilla turned in a great night in the paint, collecting a career-high 12 rebounds.
Also contributing was Chloe Adams, who had eight points and nine rebounds, and Janet Perez in her varsity debut.
The Dons (1-1) will continue pool play for the tournament on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Foothill Tech.
