The Santa Barbara High girls 4×400 relay won the invitational division race at the Simi Valley Invitational “Redux” on Saturday.

The team of Mackenna Show, Zia Frausto, Clara Aviani and Anne Knecht posted a season best of 4:14.89 in the event that was put on the calendar after the Mt. SAC Invitational canceled its high school section.

Snow also won the rated 400 meters (63.34) and Frausto took the rated 200 (27.42), both in personal bests.

Clara Aviana won the invitational 800 in 2:24.14 and Anne Knecht captured the invitational 400 in 63.30.

Blaise Winston picked up wins and personal bests in the boys seeded 400 at 51.90 and 300 hurdles at 42.22. He also nabbed third int the invitational high jump at 5-10.

Gianna Stump came home with wins and personal bests of 16-2 in the seeded long jump and 32-1 in the seeded triple jump.

“It was a tough call not to compete at the County Meet, but with things being so restrictive early in the season, I feel like we’d  run against too many of the county schools too often already,” said Santa Barbara coach Olivia Perdices. “We gave some of our kids a chance to compete in bigger fields against some different teams and it worked out well for us. We’ll see the majority of the county schools at the Channel League Finals next week.”

Santa Barbara is hosting the league finals on Saturday, May 22.
