Top-ranked Santa Barbara High rebounded from a first-set loss and beat Santa Ynez in four sets on Tuesday to stay in the Channel League girls volleyball title hunt. The match scores were 20-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-20.

The Dons, the No. 1 team in CIF-SS Division 6, improved to 6-2 in league and 14-4 overall.

“The Pirates played a strong match and we were a little off our game at the start, but we fought back,” said Santa Barbara coach Kristin Hempy, whose team is tied for second place with San Marcos and one match behind first-place Dos Pueblos.

Emma Zuffelato and Shae Delany each posted double-doubles to pace the Dons. Zuffelato had 16 kills and 14 digs and Delany notched 15 kills and 15 digs. Opposite Mary Johnson supplied six kills and middle Campbell Brown had five blocks.

Libero Carolina Koceman played solid in the back row with 21 digs.

The Dons are home Thursday night against Lompoc.
