Santa Barbara High’s boys basketbal team lost a tight game at Cabrillo, 42-40, in Channel League play on Tuesday night.

The loss drops the Dons to 4-3 in league with three games remaining.

Santa Barbara made a three-pointer to go up by one in the last minute.

“But then we had some costly fouls that allowed Cabrllo to knock down some free throws,” said coach Corey Adam.

Freshman Luke Zuffelato scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Tucker Dilbeck and Will Harmon played well off the bench, said Adam.

“This was one of those games that was a learning experience for us as we work on consistency,” said Adam.

The Dons host first-place Santa Barbara on Thursday.
