Santa Barbara High’s basketball team fell to a tough Chaminade team, 74-53, in a opening-round game at the Simi Tip-Off Classic on Tuesday night.

The game was tied at 34-34 with four minutes left in the third quarter, but Chaminade went on a 19-7 run to end the quarter.

“Poor rebounding, too many fouls and too many turnovers in the fourth quarter did us in,” said coach Corey Adam. “This was a good learning experience against an excellent team. We will get better from this.”

Bryce Warrecker scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Stephen Davis finished with 12 points.

Keith Higgins scored 24 points, Kenneth Simpson  had 23 and Abe Eagle grabbed 12 rebounds for undefeated Chaminade.
