Santa Barbara County Public Health officials reported only three new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and no additional fatalities.
The county’s cumulative COVID-19 death toll remained at 451.
Two of Wednesday’s cases were from the Lompoc Valley and one was from Santa Maria.
There have been 43 cases reported over the past week, averaging just over six new cases per day.
That is about 16% more than the week prior, when the county reported an average of 5.3 new cases per day, according to data tracking done by Noozhawk.
There were 35 people in the county still considered infectious on Wednesday, a slight drop from the 38 reported on Tuesday.
There were 11 patients being treated for the virus in local hospitals, including two in intensive-care units. Local hospitals were operating at a 32.9% ICU availability rate, but only 2.6% of the available staffed ICU beds were occupied by COVID patients.
There have been 34,549 confirmed cases throughout the county since the pandemic began, and 32,973 people have since recovered.
As of Tuesday, nearly 46% of the county’s entire population was fully vaccinated against the virus, and just over 54% of the county’s eligible population (those 12 and older) was fully vaccinated, according to the county’s Community Data Dashboard.
