Santa Barbara High suffered a 59-48 girls basketball loss against Porterville in the final day of the Gold Coast Tournament at Rio Mesa.
The Dons finished 1-3 in the season-opening tournament.
“We just ran out of gas after a strong first quarter,” said SBHS coach Andrew Butcher.
The Dons led 18-14 after the first quarter and were outscored 36-24 over the second and third quarters.
Jaeda Spence recorded a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Katrina Regalado also scored 10 points. Caia Trimble and Athena Saragoza each scored 9 points.
Santa Barbara is back in action Thursday against Pioneer Valley at the Lompoc Tournament.
