Santa Barbara High’s girls basketball team went into attack mode in the second half and outscored Santa Ynez 34-12 en route to a 66-53 victory in a Channel League opener on Tuesday night at J.R. Richards Gym.

Athena Saragoza scored 26 points and Jaeda Spence had a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds (six on the offensive boards) to lead the Dons. Caia Trimble added 10 points and had eight rebounds. Maya Banks hauled in nine boards.

Santa Barbara trailed 41-32 at halftime, but came out flying in the second half and got the Pirates into foul trouble.
