The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History will host an online art show and sale featuring some 70 contemporary pieces from 14 local celebrated artists, who have agreed to donate 50%-100% of sales to support museum programs and exhibits. The exhibit runs Friday, Oct. 2 through Sunday, Oct. 11.
Artists include Ralph Waterhouse, Steve Curry, Rick Garcia, Ray Hunter, Nina Warner, Ann Sanders, Ellie Freudenstein, Craig Nelson, Thomas Van Stein, Ann Shelton Beth, Nancy Davidson, Camille Dellar, Derek Harrison and Wyllis Heaton.
The art show and sale is chaired by local gallery owner Diane Waterhouse.
“I am looking forward to the upcoming online exhibition which will be offering beautiful Santa Barbara landscapes by Santa Barbara’s finest local artists,” said Ralph Waterhouse, who is Diane Waterhouse’s husband. “It is a pleasure to support the museum and all the wonderful educational programs that they offer for children.
“The Museum of Natural History is a Santa Barbara treasure.”
The museum’s annual art show dinner and weekend exhibit typically raises $50,000 and is a sellout event. At a time when community support and donations are critical, the museum has revamped the show into an online version with artwork to be sold through its new online store. Both local pickup and shipping are available.
