The 10-Under Santa Barbara Riptide club baseball team went 4-0 to win the Santa Ynez Tournament over the weekend.

In pool play, the Riptide beat Santa Ynez Pony, 8-2, and the Lompoc Braves, 10-0, in five innings. Noah Robins hit two homers against Santa Ynez. William Wrenn and Jack Paskin combined to blank Lompoc.

In Sunday’s single-elimination bracket, the Riptide came from behind to beat Lompoc on a walk-off hit, 10-9, and then defeated the Goleta Condors for the title, 7-3.

Jake Brennan and Wrenn led the Riptide offense with multiple hits, stolen bases and runs in the game.

Down 9-8 in the bottom of the sixth, Brady Cram hit an infield single and advanced to second on an overthrow at first. He stole third and Brennan knocked him in for the tying run by legging out an infield single. Brennan stole second and third and Wrenn singled him home for the walk-off win to advance the Riptide to the finals.

In the final against Goleta, Kevan Vatan threw three strong innings and was backed by incredible outfield play from Everrett Rabb-Preston and David Angel.  Owen Carleton pitched two solid innings, supported by multiple infield plays by Jake Brennan, Noah Robin, Tino Gamberdella and Diego Alvarez.

Wrenn pitched the sixth and Riggins Cetrulo threw out a base runner at third to thwart any comeback chances by the Condors.

“The Riptide boys all played incredible this weekend,” manager Rob Brennan said. “It was in the 90s in the Valley, but the boys battled hard all weekend and I could not be more proud of them.”

The Riptide is managed by Brennan and coached by Ryan Yamada, Dave Robin, Dan Carleton and Mike Paskin. The Riptide players consist of Jake Brennan, William Wrenn, Jack Paskin, Noah Robin, Santino Gamberdella, Riggins Cetrulo, Owen Carleton, Everett Rabb-Preston, Blake Tetalman, Diego Alvarez, Kevan Vatan, Brady Cram and David Angel.
