The Santa Barbara Soccer Club Girls 2004 Elite fell to the Idaho Rush, 3-2, in the semifinals of the U.S. Youth Soccer Presidents Cup Far West Regional in Salt Lake City.

Santa Barbara got goals from Ella Homewood and Yahaira Ramirez in the match.

The team had to play most the match with 10 players as it suffered a red card early in the match. Despite being down a player, Santa Barbara took a 1-0 lead when Homewood headed in a free kick from Sadie Stout.

Idaho equalized shortly after the SBSC goal and took a 2-1 lead just before the end of the first half. The lead expanded to 3-1 midway through the second half.

Santa Barbara had a goal waved off as a foul was called against Idaho in the penalty area. Ramirez had her penalty kick punched out by the Idaho goalkeeper, but she collected the rebound and put it away for the second goal.
