Santa Barbara High pulled out a 29-27 second-set victory over Cabrillo and took the Channel League girls volleyball match in three straight on Thursday night. The match scores were 25-14, 29-27, 25-7.

“In the second set, our girls showed perseverance while being down four points for most of the set,” Santa Barbara coach Ariana Garner said. “They were very poised during the end of the set and were able to focus and finished out the match with a little added pressure.”

The Dons got several contributions in the win. Emma Zuffaleto had five kills in two sets, sophomore middle Campbell Brown had three kills and a block, Mary Johnson contribute four aces and four digs, India Cunningham had three kills from the right side and libero Hayden Randolph picked up 13 digs and served four aces.

Santa Barbara (6-3 in league) plays Tuesday against Dos Pueblos.

“Our next two practices will be focused on how we can be successful against DP on Tuesday and be prepared for the opportunity to play in the post season,” said Garner.
