Santa Barbara High’s Davis Flanagin won the triple jump with a lifetime best on his final attempt at the Don Green Invitational track & field meet at Moorpark High on Saturday.

Flanagin jumped 42-11 for the win. He also took second in the long jump at 20-9 and led off the third-place 4×400 relay (3:41.25). Jack Ransdall, Miguel Unzueta and Drew DeLozier were the other members of the team.

“That triple jump was clutch,” said coach Olivia Perdices. “It was back and forth with him, Ellie Toumeh of Buena and Lucas Chin of San Marcos the entire competition. He pulled it out on his final attempt.”

Blaise Snow (2:00.24) and Drew DeLozier (2:00.65) were fourth and fifth in the Invitational 800 meters and posted a pair of personal bests.

“That was a deep, fast field and they both put themselves right in it from the gun. There’s a lot more to come from these guys,” said Perdices.

Santa Barbara next hosts a dual meet with Moorpark on March 9.
