Sophia Capelletti finished a through ball from Athena Bow-Graham in the 51st minute and the Santa Barbara High defense made the goal stand up for a 1-0 victory over Santa Ynez in a Channel League girls soccer game on Thursday at San Marcos.
“An impeccably solid performance from our defensive line, led by Liberty Tank, Lizzie Goss, Bri Lopez and keepers Carolina Koceman and Lia Rodriquez,” said coach Bridget Thomson.
Rodriguez came up with seven saves and Koceman added four,
“Such a positive team effort from the entire bench all the way to the field,” said Thomson.
The Dons (1-0 in league) play at San Marcos on Saturday at 3 p.m..
