A 31-year-old Santa Maria man was killed Friday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck near Arroyo Grande, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist was westbound on Los Berros Road east of Century Lane at about 3:40 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway, the CHP said.
The motorcycle crossed a solid double-yellow line and slammed into an eastbound Ford F-150 truck driven by Annamarie Hanada, 35, of Nipomo, according to the CHP.
The rider, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Hanada was not hurt, the CHP said.
The investigation was continuing, but the CHP said alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the CHP’s San Luis Obispo office at 805.594.8700.
