Santa Maria police have asked for the public’s help in identifying a woman who allegedly stole a large amount of merchandise from a business, according to Sgt. Andy Magallon.

On Feb. 12, officers were dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of South Broadway regarding a robbery.

Officers learned that employees at the business attempted to prevent the female suspect from stealing a large amount of merchandise.

“During the incident, an altercation between the suspect and employees occurred,” Magallon said. “One store employee suffered a minor injury during the commission of the crime.”
