Santa Ynez played its first home match in Channel League boys volleyball action on Thursday night and knocked off Cabrillo 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 26-24).
“We had a strong service receive game tonight which allowed us to run our middle attack,” said coach Craig Scott.
The Pirates (8-5, 1-0) were led by middle blocker Andrew Nielson with 12 kills and two service aces and Nate Rogers with eight kills.
Santa Ynez will host San Marcos on Thursday at 6 p.m.
