The SBCC men fought hard and came up with their first win in 2022, by a score of 77-71 over LA Pierce at the Sports Pavilion on Saturday.

Adam Weingard led the Vaqueros with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

“I want to give a shoutout to Luke Sinclair,” Vaquero head coach Devin Engebretsen said. “He did a lot for us in the first half, and then he came up with a big rebound late on two missed free throws, grabbed the board and then called timeout. It’s little plays like that help us win.

“Adam Weingard had a great game for us too, but from a team perspective, it was the second-half defense.”

The Vaquero men are now 6-12 overall and 1-3 in WSC play.

SBCC plays three road games this week, starting with a contest Monday at Oxnard at 5 p.m.
