The Santa Barbara team of Shannon Minne and Michael Challen, won the highest division at the American Riviera Classic Pickleball Tournament during mixed doubles play Saturday at the Municipal Tennis & Pickleball Center.
Minne/Challen captured the level 5.0 age 35+ mixed doubles title, defeating Stacy Zelenski of Morro Bay and Elon Zilberman of Santa Barbara.
Famous rock/pop musician Kenny Loggins played in the 3.0 bracket and took a silver with partner Lisa Hawkins of Santa Barbara. Lisa Woolfe of Carpinteria and David Kuwata of Goleta won the gold.
A local couple that has been well-known in the tennis community for many years won gold medals. Carpinteria’s Kathleen and Don LeSage captured the 65+, 70+ title over Leslie Thomas of Santa Barbara and Joseph Lambert of Solvang.
