A 4-acre vegetation fire threatened a few structures in Los Alamos on Friday afternoon before crews stopped the forward progress of the flames.

At approximately 3 p.m., crews from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the incident, dubbed the Sky Fire, Capt. Daniel Bertucelli said.

The blaze burned in oak-studded grassland, just west of Highway 101, near the Skyview Motel.

The county deployed a full vegetation fire response of ground crews, aircraft and bulldozers, since the incident threatened two to five buildings, Bertucelli said.

Crews corralled the fire and lifted evacuation warnings, he added an hour after firefighters were dispatched to the incident.

Firefighters remained at the scene mopping up for a while after containing the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
