Firefighters responded to a structure fire and hazardous materials incident in a Goleta commercial building Thursday night.

Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Daniel Bertucelli said a structure fire was reported at 7:08 p.m. on the 6300 block of Lindmar Drive, near South La Patera Lane.  

Firefighting crews extinguished the fire and determined there were “multiple chemicals involved,” so hazardous materials teams were called to the scene, he said.

The fire was reported out by 8:30 p.m. and “contaminated water” was being diverted away from storm drains, according to Bertucelli.

No injuries were reported in the incident. 

No further details were available and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
