The Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA, part of the Channel Islands YMCA, will roll out its Annual Campaign Feb. 1 with a goal of raising $180,000.
The drive opens with the Annual Campaign Kickoff, 6 p.m. Feb. 1, an in-person event at the YMCA, 900 N. Refugio Road.
Jeanmarie Harty, Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA board member, has been selected as the campaign chair.
All funds raised in the campaign are applied to placing kids and families in need into YMCA programs, including the child care and fitness programming for all ages.
“Every dollar donated to the Y stays local, and has a positive impact on the people of our community,” Harty said.
Each year the YMCA provides financial assistance and program subsidy to families and individuals for membership or programs such as child care, camp, sports, and after-school programs.
“We’re here for good” said Kathryn Thompson, YMCA executive director. “The Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA is filling the gaps in community services in the valley and our Annual Campaign is how we make that happen.
“As the demand for services and programs increases, it’s critical that we continue to help support those in need,” she said. “Everything we do is in service of making sure people in our communities thrive and maintain healthy lifestyles.”
Donations to the YMCA can be made at the Stuart C, Gildred Family YMCA, 900 N. Refugio Road, or by calling 805-686-2037.
